Campaign Story

Hi, we’re Makenzie and Josh, and we’re excited to share our story with you! We got married in 2020 after reuniting seven years after high school. Josh had returned from Okinawa, Japan, and I had just come back from Spain. Since then, life has been a whirlwind of moves, deployments, and new adventures. Josh, who serves in the Navy as a medical corpsman, has deployed to Afghanistan and spent time in the Pacific Ocean aboard a ship. Meanwhile, I’ve been working as an educator, a passion of mine for the past 9 years, where I’ve loved supporting students and their families.

Through all the moves from the east coast to the west, and despite Josh’s busy deployment schedule, we’ve built a wonderful life together, along with our two dogs, Jaxx and MJ. But our greatest hope has always been to start a family of our own.

We began trying to conceive in 2022, and the last two years have been filled with hope and heartbreak. Every month, we’ve faced the familiar routine of taking a pregnancy test, waiting with anticipation, only to see that single line staring back at us. The disappointment is indescribable. You check the test again, hold it up in different lighting, and google every symptom, hoping this time might be different—only to be left with unanswered prayers.

After three rounds of IUI, we’ve now turned to IVF due to what doctors call “unexplained infertility.” As you might know, IVF is an expensive process, and unfortunately, military insurance doesn’t cover infertility treatments. After undergoing multiple tests, including an HSG, and completing bloodwork, we are now facing the significant costs of IVF treatment.

Our family and friends have been incredibly supportive, and we feel so blessed to have their love behind us. We’d be so grateful if you could join us on this journey—whether through a donation or by sharing our story. We’re asking for help to make our dream of becoming parents a reality. Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to holding our baby.

Thank you so much for your love and support!
